Description
Shell rounded or beaked anteriorly, accessory plates consisting of thin, largely chitinous, triangular to T-shaped protoplax and heavy transverse, calcareous mesoplax which may be in one or two pieces, umbonal reflection well separated from umbos and supported at posterior end where sockets are formed for reception of anterior projections of mesoplax, apophyses broad and flattened, or more or less spoon-shaped.
