Shell small to medium-sized, known species not exceeding 42 mm in length, oblong, short to moderately elongate, with posterior end slightly truncated obliquely, umbones broadly rounded, moderately protruding, posterior diagonal ridge usually present, RV with 2 anterior and 2 posterior lateral teeth, separated by sockets each receiving single corresponding tooth of LV
