Description
Ovate or trigonally ovate, sub- equilateral to strongly inequilateral, obliquely truncated and in some forms attenuated posteriorly, smooth; umbones usually feebly prosogyrous, more rarely opisthogyrous; marginal carina rounded off; no escutcheon; left valve with strong, bilobed median tooth, anterior tooth small and marginal, and posterior tooth obsolete or almost so; right valve with single stout, forward-directed tooth, posterior tooth being obsolete; no myophor- ous buttress.
