Description

Trigonal, umbones prominent, area wide, bipartite, radially costate, flank costate (except in a Triassic representative), ends of costae commonly separated from marginal carina in left valve or in both by smooth radial space. [The family Trigoniidae as now interpreted coincides with the single genus Trigonia of older authors.]
